Christer Sturmark writes about what it really means to live without religion in Om humanism

Om humanism

by Christer Sturmark

Christer Sturmark is now following up his Tro och Vetande 2.0 with a book about a positive alternative to religious life philosophies. If his last book criticized religion and superstition, this one instead points to an alternative lifestyle. If man has created God in his image it is time to replace that delusion. What does a humanistic life philosophy entail? What are humanist ethics? How do we act in accordance with science and human values?

Om humanism (On Humanism) is written as a collection of short essays with eloquent reflections about  ideas such as tolerance, freedom, the natural, normality, morality and humanity. Each essay can be read by itself. Read as a whole they can contribute to a deeper insight into human life and attitudes. A free existence without gods, spiritual beings or religious dogmas, in which humans themselves are responsible for their own lives and choices.

Christer Sturmark is a writer, lecturer and social debater. He has been writing and lecturing in fields such as humanism, science and business intelligence for over fifteen years. He is President for the Swedish Humanist Association since 2004.
